Hey gang. I just wanted to make a typical old-school simple kbrecordzz appreciation post without elaborating too much on any theory, and just state some things I appreciate. And recently I've loved bladee and how his music videos are the pinnacle and absolute height of DIY (and also in some way the pinnacle and height of Sweden). It's some kind of nostalgia and pride for me to see someone else from the same country as me channeling the same thing as I tried to do (I didn't manage to do anything at the same level as bladee, I should mention) when I started making music and movies and whatever: That DIY spirit of filming a music video at your nearby forest or lake, with whatever phone camera you happen to have, edit it on whatever laptop you happen to have, and release it on your own channels directly on the internet without any middle man deciding how serious or unserious anything should be. And what I love the most is how the loose bladee/Yung Lean clique continues to channel this spirit 100% still today, many years after they started. They are some of the few true artists we have today who also succeed in doing their thing unapologetically for an audience without getting lost in the music business.
And I also just appreciate that both the songs "Into Dust" from 2014 and "Durins Bane" from a week ago, which represent the DIY spirit and its consistency throughout time, are really good songs:
