Golden email #9: Music I've found since the last time
Remember when kbrecordzz.com used to be a music site? Ha ha ha
Here are some music I've found since the last time:
My friend gave me Timpaan Dampkinz' very very rare album on CD, and I've gone from seeing it as a funny album (the fact that someone in Sweden makes crunk music in 2023 alone!!) to seeing it as some of the most unique and honest music out there. Some of it is on Youtube: 1 2 3
Got obsessed by this live video with G-Dragon and Taeyang where they ooze confidence and swag and whatever feeling I can't describe better than "watch yourself and you'll understand". I also love G-Dragon's style, or lack of style. Every time you see him he has a new look. He has no "this is how he ACTUALLY looks" middle point to rotate around. All his styles, or none of them, are his "real" style.
Dissection - Where Dead Angels Lie was the first time in a big while I got KNOCKED by how good a song was. And the singer was in jail for assisting a murder.
I love the feeling of nightcore. It's just simple and nice. They keep the good, nice and easy things about music and make it 200% (by speeding it up 2x). It's also some nostalgic thing about being a guy in 2010 sitting at a computer and listen to such music. More and more.
I thought I'd gone through all Japanese female-fronted 90s rock bands, but apparently I had missed The Brilliant Green. Really good and not only for Japan fanatics. Some more
I'm fascinated with this music video by Minna No Kodomochan. It hits the heart even if I've never felt like the depressing feeling they depict. It's the darkest possible but it doesn't feel hopeless. I imagine someone feeling that way watching the video and... I don't know how they would react, but... maybe... I don't know? This lack of words is a sign that it's an interesting artwork.
Found EXID by accident, and I love to hear them sing from the bottom of their stomach. "Really good singers" isn't my usual kind of thing but, now it is, apparently.
See ya bitch, now back to writing dry technical blogposts that no one reads.
